90S+ is clad alignment — faster (5 sec splice), lighter, better for high-volume FTTH/access work where average splice loss of 0.02 dB is acceptable. 90R is core alignment — slightly slower but with industry-best splice loss (0.01 dB typical), preferred for backbone, DWDM, and long-haul fiber where every fraction of dB matters.

Electrodes (ELCT2-20A) — replace every 6000 splices or when arc instability shows. Cleaver blades (CB-16 for CT-50 cleaver) — rotate every 1000 cleaves, replace every 16,000. Splice protection sleeves (FP-03, FP-04) — single use, per splice. We stock all these.
