SmartZone or Ruckus Cloud — which should I choose?

SmartZone (vSZ-E or vSZ-H) is on-premises — full feature set, full control, ideal for sensitive environments (BFSI, healthcare, government) and large deployments (1000+ APs). Ruckus Cloud is SaaS — easier to deploy, lower upfront cost, ideal for multi-site SMB/mid-market and managed service providers. For most enterprises starting at 50–200 APs, Cloud is the right answer.

Do Ruckus APs need a controller?

Yes — Ruckus APs need either an on-prem SmartZone controller, a Ruckus Cloud subscription, or run in Unleashed (controller-less, peer-to-peer master) mode for small deployments (up to 25 APs).

What's the warranty on Ruckus products?

Standard 1-year hardware warranty plus Limited Lifetime warranty on most APs and switches (return-to-factory). Extended advance replacement and 24/7 TAC support are purchased separately as Ruckus Support contracts.
