Description
Working Wavelength:Single mode SFP modules operate at 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths.
These wavelengths allow for efficient transmission over single mode fiber.
Color Coding:Single mode SFP modules are typically color-coded with bale clasps and arrows in blue, yellow, or purple.
Blue indicates the 1310nm module, yellow represents the 1550nm module, and purple corresponds to the 1490nm module.
Transmitter Types:Single mode SFPs use edge-emitting lasers (such as Fabry–Pérot, DFB, and DBR lasers) for different reach distances.
These lasers require a hermetic package for stable single mode operation and higher emission power.
Edge-emitting lasers are more costly than VCSELs (used in multimode SFPs).
